Tea Party

The tea party was a wonderful success! We did not make any Valentine's, but that is only because we were having too much fun eating and talking. I guess I will just work on Valentine's on my own this week. For our menu we had: baked chicken salad, orange jello, deviled eggs, mint chocolate cupcakes and Lemon Citrus Cake with whipped cream icing. Yum! Laura came with Natalie, Jenny came from Evanston, Booger came from Chicago and Liz was here early to help get everything ready. My mom joined in the festivities and my Grandma, who brought mini-eclairs with her. It was just nice to have something to look forward to, something that filled the room with love and joy on an otherwise cold and grey day.

Gloria got to wear not one, but two of her dresses (the first got covered in eclair) and was generally the life of the party. She took no nap and insisted on being in the thick of things at all times. Her new best friend is Jenny, who helped her "cook" cabbage soup in her little pink kitchen. She loved playing with Jenny so much that she tried to follow her into the bathroom. She also tried to sneak under her coat so that she could go home with her. I had no doubt that Jenny and Gloria would be kindred spirits.
