Monday was my first day of work at Williams-Sonoma. My mother-in-law took Gloria and went shopping for the entire five hours! Work went really well and I like all of my co-workers. The store is full of warm colors, great cooking smells and interesting cooking tools. I pretty much run to get things from the stock room, ring people up, and say hello when they walk in the door. It wasn’t that busy so I was able to walk around and see all of the things that they sell there. Also, nothing beats a work uniform that consists of an apron. I mean, who doesn’t look good in an apron?

On Wednesday I finally got my car worked on – new front brakes and spark plugs. It was actually my sister-in-law Liz’s father, Darrell Bolte, who worked on my car over at DJ Car and Truck Supply in Plainfield, IL. I highly recommend them if you want a nice clean place with honest people who know what they are doing. In fact, as long as I am doing an advertising bit I will include their phone number (630) 904-8181. So, if you are one of the many people who used to rely on Kevin to fix your car this is a safe, albeit more expensive, alternative. While the car was being worked on I went out shopping with my mother-in-law and Gloria. We started at American Sales, which has rows and rows of pre-lit Christmas trees, ornaments, tinsel, yard lights and more! Next was Macy’s for Frango mints, then Gap, then Baby Gap, then Gymboree, and finally, Starbucks. My mother in law has slowly built up my stamina for shopping.

Today I finally got a haircut for the first time in six months. Yeah! I have kept it long but it looks a lot more healthy. Afterwards I tried to go to Holiday in the Grove, a big Christmas celebration that my sister was in charge of organizing. Unfortunately, the snow and my skittish nature prevented me from getting there. The snow was turning to freezing rain and the roads were awful. I am supposed to watch Edward Scissorhands tonight, since it was the first real snow, but I can’t find my copy of it! Grrrrr!

Ok, this is a particularly boring entry but so be it. Better boring than depressing, right?
